We owe a debt of gratitude
to the fine
canine pictured above.
"Philomen" (General
Philomen Schwartz) is a service animal, a Black lab with thousands
of hours of obedience training, currently working with Major Michael Pravetz
(MC'66) in the Army Reserves (Officially, he's the unofficial mascot of
the 405th Combat Support Hospital).
While playing in the basement,
Philomen uncovered an envelope that contained various Mater Christi
publications and artifacts from the 60's. Included was the first
Mater Christi Newspaper. Michael has submitted these treasures to be
posted on this site, so we owe him a debt of gratitude also. He is
pictured on the left. Oh, the gentleman on the right is Col. William
Bernfeld. As far as I know, we don't owe him anything :-)
